OEM Ford nine inch case and Strange Engineering case. Strange case has more ribs and thicker casting. Roger wanted a case that took the bigger carrier bearings for use with 35 spline axles.

For use with a Detroit Locker a little trimming is needed for clearance. This case was really made for use with a spool and not a differential.

Nine inch Ford gearset setup and Detroit Locker
Buddy Roger installing pinion crush sleeve and new bearings
Setting preload, with new bearings spec is 20-25 inch pounds to rotate.
Fixing to torque ring gear on a Detroit Locker carrier. Work rally in here!
Torquing ring gear bolts 80-85 ft lbs
Back lash set at gearset spec .010 +.004 max. it was within .002 all around
