Tree 2UVR-C mill

Got me a mill...

  Tree 2UVR-C's have power feed on X,Y and Z axis and are stiffer than a Bridgeport. The next larger size Tree doesn't have a nodding head. I'm guessing this one was built in the late 60's. There is a Tree user group on Yahoo.

                     Door 105 inches trailer 103 tight fit

                                  Took some time to get it through

                      Dumped the air ride bags for height clearance

             Need just a little less height, flattening the trailer tires did it.

                      Hard on tires but what you gonna do?

                     Clears the door frame by 1/2"

            Flying 2,300 lbs, pulled to the side so it doesn't destroy the trailer fender.

                     Landed on 3/4 pipes so it will roll.

           Shipped with the head inverted to get the center of gravity lower. A lot of the head gearbox oil ended up in the motor but it seems OK.

Exmark lazer idler rebuild

Buddy Dave brought his Lazer mower over for some fixing. The real issue is one cylinder loses spark when it gets hot. We moved the coil/pickup a little closer to the flywheel magnet instead of buying a new coil assembly. We will see how that works. While it was under repair we noticed that one of the belt idlers had a shot bearing. Upon examination we could see the spot welds that held the idler together and decided to attempt to just replace the bearing instead of replacing the whole deal. I had a few new 6203 both sides sealed bearings for alternator repairs on my stock. Turns out these bearings fit.

We used 1/4 X 5/8 bolts to put it back together.

Jetter

Made up a Jetter for cleaning drain lines to fit my pressure washer.

Suttner foot operated valve, 3/8 jetter hose and a lazer 4.5 nozzle.

Leblond lathe gets a DRO part two - Y axis

       Saw where some kits have a mounting plate like this for installing on as cast surfaces. Made my own out of aluminum flat.

 Scale needs to be aligned with the sensor heads path. These plates give adjustment for this.

Painted the mount gold as I did not have any gray. X axis scale is .00005" resolution and Y .0002".   Go this from  http://www.drokits.com/

 Sensor mount clears taper attachment. Scale would just fit under the cover and this way is protected and leaves room for the follow rest. Real glad it would fit like this and got the low profile scale for this purpose.

Vintage Amana Microwave repair

 Our 1980 vintage Amana radar range's timer went goofy. Touch pad generated random numbers. As you can see the time displays 3608. I figured to shotgun the power supply parts and see if that would get it going again.  There is no place in town to get parts so I ordered them from  Wholesale Electronics Inc out of Mitchell South Dakota. www.weisd.com. I replaced two zener diodes that regulate voltage and three electrolytic capacitors. One of the caps was not available in its original 250v rating so I substituted a 350 volt. parts cost $5.28 and shipping was $11.90

     Timer out of its hole. This thing is built like a tank.

                 Stud mount triac came unbonded during disassembly oh well.

Our internet provider Keyon Speednet upgraded to 13 MPS which required different equipment. Antenna got changed from a flat panel to this dish which was used and kind of shabby.  The new radio is Cambium Networks PMP 450 running on 5GHZ. We
repainted and put on a Tux logo.
